About Tuscany

Tuscany is one of the most famous and prolific wines regions anywhere in Europe. It is best known for the juicy Sangiovese based red wines.

Surrounding the city of Florence, the heart of Tuscany, lie the distinguished wine regions of Chianti Colli Fiorentini and Chianti Rufina. These areas stretch across rolling hills, and ancient wineries nestled amidst stunning landscapes are all steeped in a rich winemaking tradition, producing some of the most appreciated wines in the world.

Tuscany is home to a variety of grape varieties, with Sangiovese being the most prominent as it is the primary grape used in producing many renowned red wines. Sangiovese, which forms the majority of the Chianti blend is a thin-skinned grape, so it makes lighter Tuscan wines.

Focus Producers

Castellare di Castellina
Castellare di Castellina are traditional Tuscan producers, with a modern approach in the heart of the Chianti Classico region. Nearly half of their vineyards are on the hillsides of a natural southeast-facing amphitheatre. This gives them excellent exposure to the sun, good water drainage and a mixed soil which allows them to produce well-structured, intense red and white wines. No synthetic chemicals are used in the vineyards, out of respect for nature and to enable the production of organic wines. This philosophy is reflected in the labels as each year has a drawing of a different bird that are becoming increasingly rare due to the use of herbicides in vineyards.

Talenti
The Talenti estate was developed around an old farm on the southern slope of Montalcino. Among the vineyards there are olive groves, orchards and seed crops all surrounded by age-old holm-oak woods, characteristic of the Montalcino area. They cultivate and tend to their land with respect for tradition, harvesting the grapes and olives by hand. The vineyards are divided into eleven different plots, each with different altitude, exposure and soil composition, creating red wines that are incredibly complex and profound.
