About Veneto
The land of Prosecco; Veneto is smaller than Italy’s other main wine-producing regions, yet it generates more wine than any of them.
Veneto is one of the most important and diverse wine-growing regions in Italy. Its winemaking tradition is deeply intertwined with its culture, history, and cuisine.
The region boasts a wide range of terroirs and microclimates due to its diverse geography, which includes coastal areas, hills, valleys, and even Alpine foothills. This has meant that Veneto is home to several wine appellations and styles, from complex reds to refreshing whites and of course sparkling, with Prosecco being the pride of the locals.
Focus Producers
Belstar
Belstar, a Venetian dialect term referring to a ‘good location,’ couldn’t be a more appropriate name for this winery. Located in the heart of the historical Prosecco region, Belstar’s vineyards are planted across some of the most immaculate and sought-after hills in the area.
Statua
Inspired by the great Roman sculptures that are still found across Italy, Statua believe that Italy’s rich history shouldn’t be confined to the past. Their dedication to producing wines is similar to the attention to detail that the Roman sculptors took to in creating their statues.
La Dama
Owned and operated by Gabriele Dalcanale and his wife, ‘la dama’ (the lady) Miriam, their vine growing and winemaking approach is about doing things as naturally as possible. From 2015 vintage onwards, all the La Dama wines are certified organic. Preserving the nature and health of their working environment has always been the driving philosophy for this husband-and-wife team.
